We often overlook the little moments in life.
Like taking a walk in the park.
Or spending some time with a hobby you love.
The joy we feel in those moments can seem small.
Taking a romantic trip with your partner can feel so much bigger.
Spending time together doing something bold and new, like skydiving or hang gliding.
Maybe even compared to your wedding or engagement day.
These big moments get burned into our memories, and we can smile about them for years to come.
They don’t happen on a daily or even weekly basis.
They are few and far between.
What I find so fascinating is how little time we spend truly noticing and savoring the small moments that life is actually made of.
The other night, my wife and I sat down to make chocolates using a small melting pot and some molds we had bought long ago.
I had tried once or twice on my own before, but we had never done it together.
And yet we had fun and genuinely enjoyed the process of doing it side by side.
At the end of the night, we sat down to meditate for a bit.
I was suddenly overcome with the quiet joy of the evening.
Not because we did something impressive or dramatic.
But because it was simple, calm, and comfortable.
And yet, by the end of the evening, my heart felt full.
I remember thinking, “This is where life is truly lived.”
Not in the big, exciting, adventure-packed moments.
To me, they are the secret to a happy life.
Finding joy in the little things we do.
In the minutes that quietly make up our day.
How might you find more joy in your own life within those small, quiet moments?
