[EPISODE #40] The Power of the Past: Claiming True Confidence
Nourish the Soul shares with you, special guest, Peter Woodbury MSW of Virginia Beach. Peter is a trained hypnotherapist and past life-regressionist who has been studied under renowned leaders Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Allen Chips and Dan Brown Ph.D. Peter is a graduate of Harvard University where he earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate of Boston University where he holds a master's degree in social work. A student of the Edgar Cayce readings for over 20 years, he is a popular presenter on key topics from the Cayce readings both at A.R.E Headquarters and in the field.
Peter will be joining me to explore our soul's journey as he discusses what past life regression is and how our past (including past lives) influence the way we think, feel and behave with ourselves today.
I know you are ready to expand your understanding of yourself and why you are on the journey you are on.
This is an exciting show!

Segment 1
Continuing this month’s theme of the root chakra (which deals with safety and security), Elizabeth begins this segment by speaking about confidence. Understanding our past and our past lives is an important part of growing and learning in a powerful way. In order to develop confidence, we must look back at our past in order to transform our lives. We have to be willing to unlock what occured in our past that shape our present. She introduces her guest Peter Woodbury and they begin to speak about metaphysics and the mind.
Segment 2
Elizabeth and Peter continue their conversation about Peter’s upbringing and his relationship with his great-grandmother from Puerto Rico. They speak about his upbringing as well as his education and the way he became interested in Eastern thought. They continue their talk visiting topics such as hypnotherapy, past-life regression, and healing ourselves through the past by helping people access their “soul selves.” These regressions work by allowing others to see scenes from their past and helping them get through any issues they may have had.
Segment 3
Elizabeth continues to talk to Peter about regression and hypnosis. They talk about the ways regression differs from traditional talk therapy. Instead of just talking about traumas like patients do in talk therapy, they can go back into that time and change and heal themselves through regression therapy. Peter talks about his personal experience with regression and how it made him more compassionate and more self-confident because he was led to his “soul self.” They take a listener’s question about visiting a past life by herself.
Segment 4
Elizabeth talks to Peter about his experience with guides, the “guardians” that help human beings throughout their lives. He talks about his ability to meet with them and the revelation that they were part of a group. He learned that in some lives, he guided them and in others, they guided him. Elizabeth and Peter speak more about the work he is doing and how he feels like it liberates people. They both recognize how powerful the work he doing is and they end by speaking about his book that he is currently writing.
