Segment 1

Steven introduces today’s topic is business building brilliance.  Steven further dives into surrounding yourself with the right people in business is very important and with that he welcomes guest Machen MacDonald, founder of ProBrilliance Leadership Institute among many other accolades.  Steven further dives into the important question of “what is the purpose of your business?”  and the main reason of a business, as harsh as it sounds, is to make money.  This is an important question to ask and evaluate so you can move forward to further goals in life and your business.  Another aspect of running a good business is having the right products and services and in order to get there you have to surround yourself with the right people.  

Segment 2

We start this segment with Steven talking to Machen further about business planning.  Steven asks Machen what gets him going in the morning and what gives him the motivation to get to work.  They further talk about how failing is part of the process and is just feedback in running a business.  We can’t be afraid to fail and be willing to work at it.  In the process we always have to have the faith that it is going to work out and how you always have to look for opportunity.   To close this segment Steven asks Machen how his business is going to market and how others can go to market during these times, in addition to how to speak to customers emotionally and how to connect with our market base.  

Segment 3

They open up this segment discussing the mental and emotional foundation of a business and how to build/find it.   Steven and Machen further discuss how business owners sometimes have trouble going through others and surrounding themselves with the right people to help guide them vs. just using a roadmap on their own.  They then dive into leadership vs. management and some of the differences there.  Leadership is about the people while management is about the numbers.  They close this segment with Steve asking Machen what he sees out there with businesses that are struggling, having success, etc. and other hot topics in this environment.
