This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Author, Speaker, and Holocaust Educator, Felice Cohen.
Felice is known nationally and internationally as the woman who lived in the world’s smallest apartment.
Her second book 90 Lessons for Living Large in 90 Square Feet (...or more), the recipient of numerous Self Help book awards. It is a “want to” guide motivating people to do more of what they love by letting go of extra stuff. The book was inspired by the YouTube video of her 90-square-foot New York City studio that went viral with over 22 million views. Since then she has gained media attention across the globe.
Felice has been featured on Good Morning America, NBC, CBS, Fox5, Sirius, & NPR. As well as Time, Forbes, Globe & Mail, New York Daily News, and the Daily Mail to name a few. She is also featured in a documentary on tiny living. What enabled Felice to “live large” in that tiny studio is that she has been a professional organizer for over 25 years.
The show opens with the weekly quotes from Abraham and the Universe. The quotes deal with the power of your mind and imagination, freedoms and restrictions, and nurturing your inner-child. Sam then introduces the guest of the show, Felice Cohen. Felice talks about her viral video and her career as a professional organizer.
Felice opens the segment talking about the motivations behind writing her first book, What Papa Told Me, recording her grandfather’s experiences of the Holocaust and what she learned from them. She adds in a bit about her grandparent’s transition to American life after WWII, capping it with her grandmother’s suicide.
Sam inquires about Felice’s second book, 90 Lessons for Living Large in 90 Square Feet. She relays her experiences living in her small New York studio apartment and what she had learned in that time. Felice explains the origins behind the apartment being featured in the viral YouTube video, also giving a few perspectives on consumerist culture and materialism.
Felice gives out a few tips and tricks on cleaning and reorganizing your home and responds live to questions from listeners. She talks about the impact of the video on her life, the core message of 90 Lessons, and the response she’s received from readers. She closes the show informing listeners of her upcoming memoir and giving out contact information.
