Antonia introduces special guest co-host Tryphena Wade, and, after some brief discussion of the recent warm temperatures, the two ladies discuss their recent vision board and afro flow yoga event; Tryphena discusses her experience in collaborating with a friend to create the event. They also discuss the community present at the event, including the diversity of the people and the fears attendees wish to conquer.
Antonia and Tryphena discuss the Golden Globes, including Oprah Winfrey’s Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech and how her speech is being seen as presidential in nature. Both women discuss the idea of Oprah for President, what she would do as president and the differences between Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey as celebrities in the presidency. The conversation then shifts to Donald Trump and recent events surrounding him, and the ladies go back and forth between Trump and Oprah as they discuss both our current president and a potential future president.
Antonia and Tryphena continue the discussion on Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey, and Oprah Winfrey’s possible presidential candidacy. They then discuss a recent H&M advertising campaign that caused major controversy, and why the shirts worn by both boys in the commercial is problematic. Tryphena also brings up how this relates to a recent Dove ad that was also controversial. Both women also muse how this ad got past the marketing team.
Our hosts keep talking about the H&M scandal, and what marketing teams can do to prevent something like this from happening again. They then go back to the Golden Globes, and their reaction to some people and events at the Golden Globes. The two ladies also discuss skating, Tonya Harding, and the recent U.S Figure Skating Championships, and how Starr Andrews blew away the competition.
